Ethiopian wood amulet icon pendant
Small Ethiopian Coptic (orthodox) travel icon, carved and painted by Priests of the Coptic church. Mostly used by traveling (well to do) people, nuns, and monks.
It depicts on the left St. George slaying the dragon. On the main body, Maria with child. The wood itself looks worn and old, although it is possible that the images were re-painted on a later date.
