Kabyle silver and coral necklace, Algeria
Big Kabylian pendant inset with a big coral cabochon and decorated on both sides with enamel. Most of the parts of this necklace are old and show age, some others like the top French influenced pendants (with tassels) are newer (from the 20-30’s) and quality of the silver is not so good.
Except for the top 2 conical pendants that have a bakelite cabochon, the rest is made of deep red coral beads, also the big branches beads on each end of the necklace.
Datation of some of the enamel pendants is early 20th century or older, the rest are from 1st half to mid-XXth century.
It was collected by the previous owner around the 60’s in Algeria.
