Minangkabau coral and gilded silver necklace, West Sumatra

Minangkabau necklace of coral beads and hollow gilded silver boxes, from Payakumbuh district, West Sumatra. Such necklaces are worn by married women.

From the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th Century.

It is now strung in a temporary cord.
