Silver and agate “bazuband”, Iran

Old “bazuband” used as an amulet, inset with etched carnelian and agate gemstones. The etchings on the stones are magical inscriptions and numbers, that are meant to protect the person wearing the bazuband. It is used attached with strings to the upper part of the arm.

High-grade silver, with a nice worn patina.

From the beginning of the XXth century or earlier.
