Silver Chinese chatelaine pendant
Antique Chinese silver chatelaine pendant with a grooming kit. From Yunnan province in SW China. This type of chatelain is often suspended from a loop on the shoulder or from the back of a neck ring.
This grooming kit consists of 3 old jade pieces depicting lotus blossoms – symbolizing redemption, purity and fruitfulness. Silver chains and grooming tools seem newer. Two more old jade beads hang from the jade pieces.
From the beginning of the XXth Century, although the jade pieces are probably older.
Total length of the kit is 42 cm (16,53 in).
The biggest central jade piece measures 55 mm wide (2,16 in).
It weighs 65 gr.
