Silver ring with hidden compartment, Yemen
Old Yemeni ring, made of high-quality silver, decorated with filigree and granulation. The whole ring has an old and worn patina. It has a compartment on top that might be used to store a talismanic or amuletic item, like Quoran verses or prophylactic stone. It could also carry some perfume material like agarwood or amber.
From the end of the 19th beginning of the 20th Century.
