Bagobo earplugs, Mindanao (Philippines)

Earplugs called “Pamarang” used by men of the Bagobo tribe in Mindanao, Philippines. Fronts are plain but backs have designs with dots. Only men of influence and wealth possessed these ornaments. The ivory used in such ornaments was obtained from Borneo and reached the Bagabos through trade with the Maguindanao Moros.
